Gazprom’s non-CIS gas exports hit record of 19.4 bcm in January
MOSCOW, Feb 1 (PRIME) -- Natural gas exports by Russian gas giant Gazprom to the non-CIS countries soared by 45.4% on the year to an all-time high of 19.4 billion cubic meters (bcm) in January, the company said in a statement on Monday.
“Gazprom’s exports to the non-CIS countries amounted to 19.4 billion cubic meters of gas. It is an increase of 45.4%, or of 6.1 billion cubic meters, as compared with January of the previous year, and it is the best result for this month in the company’s entire history of exports,” the statement read.
Gas exports to Germany rose by 32.4% on the year in January, exports to Italy more than tripled, to Turkey rose by 20.8%, to France by 77.3%, to the Netherlands by 21.2%, and to Poland by 89.9%, the company said.
Exports to China through the Sila Sibiri (Power of Siberia) pipeline exceeded the contracted figures by 2.5% and January 2019 volumes by almost three times. Domestic gas supplies grew by 16.7% to 4.9 bcm.
Gazprom’s gas production increased by 6.4% on the year to 47 bcm in January, the company added.
